I see a usb device called Fixmestick to plug in computer and it removes all viruses ect. Is it safe or a scam.

I saw this on Facebook and I have a computer with viruses and malware that I don’t use. Fixmystick looks like this is what I need but I’m afraid it will send all my information on computer to a scammer.

Garbage. Don't waste your money on it, or any AV software.

Even if there were such a thing as Mac viruses (there aren't), AV software is only as good as what it knows. Since new threats come out daily (virtually all of it Windows malware), it will then fail to detect anything that comes out after you buy the USB stick. In short, it's instantly obsolete when purchased.

As there are no viruses that affect Macs, I'd say it's a scam. Also, it's advertised on Facebook so, that's another count against it.

Most of the malware that you find on a Mac is adware or the result of phishing scams. Your best defense there is Apple's built in protections and your own common sense.

And never, ever plug a USB drive into your computer that you can't personally verify came from a trusted source.
