imac keeps crashing with Panic (CPU 1) caller 0xffffff8005f31941 error message

My iMac keeps crashing shortly after launch. If I choose to report the crash, it bring up this error code (I cut and pasted it into word as it kept freezing)

The system fires up and might allow me to open one or two applications before freezing and then shutting down.

The iMac is fine when I launch one of the other two user profiles on the same machine.

Can anyone help??

Thanks.

KP's are difficult to diagnose as they can be caused by either software, hardware or a combination of both.

Common software issues are using the following types of third party apps:

  • Antivirus
  • Cleaning
  • Security
  • Maintenance
  • VPN

Other common software issues are out-of-data third party apps that are causing conflicts.

Hardware causes include RAM issues such as incorrect RAM, poor quality RAM, unseated RAM, failed RAM. Other hardware issues can be failed or failing hard drives (including external drives), hubs that are failing or failed, bad cables etc.

So the bottom line is you have to very systematically go through your system and eliminate each of these possible causes until you find what is causing the KPs. Your only other option is to take your complete system to your local third party Apple Authorized Service Provider and have them investigate and diagnose where the problem lies.
