My MacBook Air Gmail is not syncing with my iPhone

I recently did the latest OS upgrade. Not sure if that's why but now my gmail on my MacBook Air is not syncing with my iphone. All settings on laptop and phone are as they should be and have been. This is new.

Thanks.

Jean

Gmail account can be accessed by any device, if you enter your login name and the password. It doesn't have to sync with any other device other than the Gmail/Google servers. Your devices sync through the Goggle server, individually, not between the devices. So, one of your devices doesn't connect with the Google server, and/or you have two different Gmail accounts.

Refresh that Gmail in your laptop. If you are using a mail app, refresh it. If you are using a web browser to access Gmail, refresh that. Gmail is a web based mail service. The mail app you are using, or the web browser you are using in your laptop hadn't yet refreshed itself with the Google servers. As far as Gmail is concerned, you've read the mail.

Have you shut down and restarted both devices, and compare your results?

In your laptop, use any web browser to open Gmail in that. Whatever you do in your other devices with Gmail will be shown in that Gmail in a web browser in your laptop.

If you are using some mail app in your laptop, that mail app must be malfunctioning. I don't use any mail apps for my mail, only Gmail, and only in a web browser. I even use Gmail to transfer files between devices, using draft. Gmail is a web based mail, so you don't need any dedicated mail apps to use it. Whatever you do in Gmail will be stored in Google servers, and won't get lost. Just use a web browser for Gmail, and you won't have headaches.

If you make changes to your Gmail account in one device, connected to internet, or in one web browser, it will change immediately in any other device or web browser. Whatever you write/change using Gmail, you do it in Google's server. It is always in the web, even if you have an app installed, such as Gmail app. Gmail is a web based mail account.

But that's just it - I didn't change anything. The only thing that is different is the OS.

So I just signed in and out of my gmail acct on my computer. It is updating only partially. In other words it is not deleting emails I have deleted on my phone even when I refresh the page, but it is reflecting replies and emails I have saved as new. That seems very odd to me.

Thanks for your help.

I have refreshed numerous times, restarted, shut down, and signed out and in. My iphone mail app reflects what I have done on my laptop but my laptop doesn't reflect what I have done on my phone. I also use the gmail app on my phone as well and that reflects what I have done in my laptop gmail.

So frustrating as I am wasting my time repeating everything I have done on my phone again on my laptop.

Thanks for your help.
