screen time impossible to block

I am becoming extremely annoyed with Apples apparent lack of interest in helping people to control their screen time. It is ridiculously easy to bypass any of the default screen time controls as well as any third party apps having so little access to actually block things, it makes them pretty much useless as well. I don’t feel like this should be as hard as it has been for me. I’ve tried multiple third party apps on the App Store made just for controlling screen time, but Apple even makes those apps too easy to bypass. The default way of trying to limit screen time lacks options, such as blocking an app for a certain amount of time when it is used for a certain period of time, or blocking based on location, etc. VPN’s can be set but do NOT require a password to be turned off!! You cannot block access to the settings app and every third party app that is made for controlling screen time is made RIDICULOUSLY easy to turn off by simply opening the settings, clicking screen time, scrolling to the apps that have access and simply turning it off!! Like, seriously?!? One would almost thinks Apple is purposely trying to make people become mindless zombies addicted to their phones. Am I missing something here or is this just the way it is with Apple? I came from droid where stuff like this could be done no problem, but due to my job, I switched, just because it made things easier. I will not, however, accept that Apple can’t implement better screen time controls. I’ve never been this attached to my phone and it’s really getting annoying! This could be fixed by simply making the screen time controls or vpn require a password to be changed. If this isn’t fixed I’m going back to Droid. This is just outright greed in my opinion. Surely Apple, with all of those brilliant engineers and employees, already know this is an issue. Coming from Droid, it’s just clear as day to me. Please fix this.

You should pay attention to two commonly overlooked aspects...

  1. Configuring device restrictions for your child's device.
  2. Setting up a screen time passcode on your own device for your child.
