Suspicious name in iPhone storage

When I want to use manage storage in settings there is something called iCloud Drive which is occupying 9.95 GB. I don’t have an iCloud Drive app on my phone nor have I bought extra storage from iCloud basic which is apparently 5 GB. It can’t be offloaded or deleted. What is that? Could it be a malware? Does anyone else have that in their iPhone storage management?

I see iCloud Drive in my Settings > General > iPhone Storage as well. In my case it is 15.1 MB.

Check Settings > [your name] > iCloud > iCloud Drive > (Manage Storage as well as Apps Synching to iCloud Drive) to gather more information.

And of course you should understand your iCloud total space usage as I indicated in the second bullet of my response above.

Your post is extremely confusing.

There are two storage related areas up in Settings:

  • Settings >. General > iPhone Storage - but this has no “Manage Storage” area.
  • Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Manage Account Storage - yes, iCloud Drive appears there as part of your iCloud storage.

iCloud Drive is not an app. It’s a place to house files. If it really shows 9.95GB and you only have 5GB available, you have lost plenty of data. More likely, it says 9.95MB.

No it actually is 9.95 GB. It is in the Settings > General > iPhone Storage. As is visible in the screenshot of my iPhone Storage, it says iCloud Drive 9.95 GB. This is very confusing to me too because just like you said iCloud is not an app. But then I see this in the list of iPhone Storage. Why is it occupying space on my phone. Thank you for answering.
