then you do it the old fashion way, you physically look for your lost phone.

Let's assume that you enabled Find My on the phone.....before.....it was lost.

The phone is not going to show up on the Find My map if the phone has been powered off, the battery has run down or the phone does not have a connection to the Internet where it is currently located.

Nothing you can do about that except keep trying a few times each day to see if the status of the phone might have changed.

Please keep in mind that iPhone thieves are very fond of placing iPhones in a special type of shielded bag that will not allow the phone to either receive or send a signal.....even if the phone is "on" and otherwise operating normally.. Again....nothing you can do about that.

I'm sorry, but only a tiny fraction of phones that are lost are ever found. Please be realistic about your chances of finding the phone if it was lost in a public place.
