How to change payment method for Apple ID?

I need to change the payment method I use for making payments from my credit card to my checking account. I log in to Apple, click on to support and select billing and subscriptions, then manage your payment information, then change, add or remove a payment method. I then select add a payment method on your Windows or Microsoft Surface. I attempt to follow the instructions for this method several times but I always get caught in a loop giving me the same instructions over and over. I then attempted to change my payment method through the option of signing on to appleid.apple.com and selecting payment & shipping, and see that my checking account is listed there. I've struggled with this issue since July when the first $.99 charge showed up on my credit card but my payments are still showing up there. Maybe it has something to do with the $.99 payments I'm making for more space to backup something?? I just can't figure out where to make the change in Apple's conglomeration of departments. I see I need to choose a topic below, but quite frankly I don't know which one to choose.

See this article about updating payment methods on various platforms (iPhone, Mac, etc.): If you need to change or update your Apple ID payment method - Apple Support

"If you change your address, the credit or debit card information that you use with your Apple ID might be automatically updated by your financial institution, and you don't need to take action. But if there's an issue [such as you having a subscription or being a Family Sharing Organizer], add a new card first, then remove the old card."

If you still have questions or problems:

Refer to this document for ways to contact Apple ➞ Choose your country or region - Official Apple Support

Select your country (also look for "other" regions), then a product. If you don't see one that handles your issue then keep experimenting with selections until you reach one that gets you a chat session or a telephone call and get the representative to redirect you.

You can start by canceling the plan if you aren't using it. You can ask for a refund but they may not grant you all of them if they go back too far. Follow the directions in this support article about how to request a refund for apps or content that you bought from Apple ➔ Request a refund for apps or content that you bought from Apple - Apple Support

Read this support article about how to downgrade or cancel your iCloud+ storage plan on an Apple mobile device, a Mac, or a PC. --> Downgrade or cancel your iCloud+ plan - Apple Support

I did provide a telephone number source if you don't want to use online assistance.

Thank you. I've been dealing with this issue for three months. I did move three months ago and the first thing I did was change my address with my bank and my bank issued my credit card, so I don't think that's the problem. I just wish I could chat or talk with someone who can help me take care of this simple task. I'll try your suggestion of clicking a bunch of links and see if that works, but I'm getting frustrated with this whole situation. I don't have a "product," I'm just paying $.99 a month for extra storage, I think with icloud. Anyway, thanks for responding to my request for help.
