I have ATT internet and wireless. I cannot play Apple TV shows using the Apple App on my smart TV.

App opens, when I click on a show (i.e., Ted Lasso, Lessons in Chemistry, etc.) the logo comes up, the screen showing trailer for another show plays, but if I skip or let it play through, the screen stops before the Apple show comes on with a message balloon saying it won't run and if this continues to contact my internet provider. ATT has done countless trouble shooting including giving me a new wireless address. No luck. All other streaming service apps work just fine.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.7

Try resetting the Apple TV app, then sign in again. Reset the Apple TV app - Apple Support

If you still get the misbehavior on the smart TV after that, then consider these troubleshooting steps from Samsung Support: What to do if an app is not working on Samsung TV - Samsung Support

  1. Cold reboot the TV,
  2. Update the TV system software, if available,
  3. Delete and reinstall the misbehaving app (if deletion is supported for that app),
  4. Reset the ‘Smart Hub’ (like a factory reset for the apps part of the TV).

If you need further assistance after that, please contact Apple Support.

I had a Samsung smart TV and had the same problems even with an Apple TV streaming box they told me I could use it as a modem. It never worked. This is with spectrum. I ended up dumping spectrum because II had a Samsung smart TV and had the same problems even with an Apple TV streaming box they told me I could use it as a modem it never worked. This is with spectrum. I ended up dumping spectrum because I discovered fiber optic works best if you have it available, the problem with it not playing might be because you don’t have an Apple TV box just having the app doesn’t cut the mustard especially if you have low speed, Internet, i.e. 300/300. Now I have frontier fiber optic and I have never had a problem since , I had a bundle with spectrum and ended up dumping all of it because it was just horrible service and nobody could help me when I would call. My Samsung TV burned out. Luckily, I have an another TV Tosh. , I had a bundle with spectrum and ended up dumping all of it because it was just horrible service and nobody could help me when I would call. My Samsung TV burned out. Luckily I have a Toshiba Regza which I’ve had for over 12 years that’s the difference of paying $500 for a Samsung or $3000 for a Toshiba.
