NOTES suddenly disappeared from iPhone 13 Pro including Settings Icon and all Data

On November 13 2023 After saving 3 photographs in a note on my phone (this was the first time I had saved a photograph in a note), suddenly the Notes icon disappeared from the Home Page of my iPhone 13 Pro. (iOS 16.6.1) It was in the 4-icon special area below the search, it was not one of the movable icons. A search for "Note" just yields the Settings icon and only goes to Settinga. When I go to Settings on the phone, Notes is not listed there any more. I have an iPhone 6 and in Settings the Notes line is in between Calendar and Reminders. On the iPhone 13 it just has Calendar then Reminders, the Notes is missing from Settings.
