What makes you think the iPhone Compass needs calibration? The iPhone 11 Pro Max has a built-in compass that uses motion to calibrate itself. However, there are a few things you can do to improve its accuracy:

Remove any magnetic material from your phone. This includes cases, wallets, and even credit cards. Magnetic interference can cause the compass to give inaccurate readings.

This is usually done on older devices with iPhone 11 and later models, these may not be required. However...

Settings > Compass > Location > While Using the App [Tick]

  • open the Compass app on your iPhone.
  • Hold your iPhone and move it around in a figure-eight motion until the compass is calibrated.
  • Ensure that you rotate the device around all three axes (roll, pitch, and yaw).

Important: The accuracy of the compass can be affected by magnetic or environmental interference; even the magnets in the iPhone EarPods can cause a deviation. Use the digital compass only for basic navigation assistance. Don’t rely on it to determine precise location, proximity, distance, or direction.
