iTunes is No More:
Apple did away iTunes for the macOS in Catalina (macOS 10.15). iTunes is no longer part of iOS and macOS. All there is, is the TV app for TV Shows and Movies, and the Music app for Music after macOS Catalina. What Happened to iTunes? - Apple Support

Unless things have changed in iOS 17, I believe that the iPhone app for purchasing downloadable music from Apple is still called iTunes Store. Music is the app for playing music from whatever source.
On the Mac, the iTunes Store is a sidebar item in the Music app. It's hidden by default, so you have to go into Music {Preferences…/Settings…} to enable it. If you didn't look there, you might think it had gone missing.

Also Podcast and Books apps, and Finder-based synchronization (instead of iTunes-based synchronization).

The OP mentioned a nothing of the iTunes Store. And their macOS doesn’t even support iTunes.

The iTunes Store exists on Macs that are running the Music app – as it formerly did on Macs running iTunes.
It was very visible on Macs running iTunes. It is less so on Macs running the Music app, but it is still there, and Apple still calls it the iTunes Store (not the Music Store, or anything like that).

iTunes and iTune Store are two completely separate apps. I don’t see where iTunes Store comes in to play. But anyways.
