How to connect my two HomePod mini to my Mac Mini?

I am unable to connect my Mac Mini to my 2 HomePod mini. I am able to connect my Apple TV to the HomePod minis. I'm able to use my iPhone to connect to 2 HomePod Minis. When I tap on the sound symbol on the Mac Mini I see the HomePod Minis but when I select them no sound is heard.

Homepod minis won't work as stereo speakers with Apple TV In Settings, my apple TV shows the Samsung TV speakers, and both Homepod Minis, but it will only let me put a check mark next to one item. So the TV is playing through one mini and music is playing through the other (music I did not select no less).

Duolingo audio through mini HomePod: how? Is it possible to get my Mini HomePod to be the loudspeaker for the audio when using the Duolingo app? Guidance appreciated. Thanks.

maybe you have to pair them as stereo first
