I am unable to reset this mac how do i do that

Extra emphasis on the "If you can't use Erase All Content and Settings" section in that article. This is probably what OP is experiencing and that should resolve the issue. I'm guessing it's an Intel-based Mac without T2 and therefore can't use EACS.
