Iphone 15 Pro charger cable only works when connected to

I have recently bought the new Iphone 15 Pro and have tried to use the cable that comes in the box with the original Apple power plug that I already had (and that still works with my husband’s iphone 14). It does not charge the phone (I have tried with other certified cables and plugs, have restarted the phone..). The only way to charge it is connecting it to a pc or using a usb-c/usb-a type of cable. Has this happpened to any of you?
