privaterelay.appleid.com emails not being received to main email address

I set up an account for a food delivery company and was asked to hide email address which I thought would be a good idea s would be spammed constantly from them, I was given a private relay email all good, I have had an issue with the company and you can only contact through the app which I did, I had no contact and eventually when I managed to reach them they say they have been emailing me now I think that's not true however when I use the privet relay email I was given I don't get emails so may be true - I have searched junk and trash and anywhere else it may be however I cant find it, cant find if there is a way to check my private relay mailbox - can anyone help
