my phone number still doesn't have a check next to it
when I go iMessages under send & receive my phone number doesn't have a check mark and it's been 24 hours now.

See my reply but start a chat for support regarding iMessage through Apple website. They need to refresh the link as I was told and right on the spot you should be able to click on your cell as the default method of contact. All the Apple rep asked for was my cell # and country. Very simple and easy to do.
