Log in by other devices with my Apple ID

I get messages saying someone is logging in using my Apple ID in Rio, or other cities outside the US. Should I change my password?

Multiple possibilities:

1) The messages are real and you should check the integrity of your account. Read this document if you think your Apple ID has been compromised. --> If you think your Apple ID has been compromised - Apple Support

2) The messages are real but maybe you're using a VPN which makes it think you are some place you are not.

3) The messages are phishing. You normally only get that kind of message when logging in on a new device. Are you doing that, or did this just suddenly start appearing out of nowhere? I only see them when signing into a new device or doing something special on an old device such as one that hasn't been used in several months.
