Lost Airpod Max smart case

I lost my smart case for the AirpodMax. I am losing my time trying to see how to get a replacement. There are threads here asking the same question but I cannot find how to fix this very simple issue of buying a case. Does anyone know where can I buy a replacement? And out of curiosity, why is this not a super simple procedure?

Airpod Max replacement smart case I have rung Apple a number of times trying to replace the smart case that I lost for my Airpod Max. Apparently, they do not have the smart case as a replacement item. The customer service person was very helpfull but said that they tried all avenues but there is categorically no way to order a replacment. It boggles the mind as to how there is absolutely no way to get a replacement. Every single bit and part of every other earpod including the max can be ordered online no problem. I eventually had to put up with just ordering the "carry case" at $128. It's like selling he iphone with a protective case and then saying that they don't sell a replacement case.
