Apple Vision Pro is now available in the U.S.

Why does contact search not show exact name matches?

I have a contact named "Mom". When I attempt to search for "Mom", in my Contacts (accessed by clicking the green phone icon and then "Contacts" at the bottom (in between "Recents" and "Keypad"), "Mom" does not show up, despite being a contact in my phone.

Instead, only two names show up - one person named "Mohamed" shows up under "Top Name Matches" and another person named Joe G who works at "Movement Mortgage" shows up under "Other Results".

Similarly, if I search for "Joe", "Joe G" who appeared in the "Mom" search does not appear. Instead, John B, Jordan B, Joel D, and Joe F show up under "Top Name Matches"

The search function in contacts is essentially unusable. I have to manually scroll to find a contact, or find their phone number somewhere else and enter it on the keypad.

Why does the iPhone do this? See screenshots below.
