how to get siri to open a new chrome tab

Siri seems in denial that I have Google Chrome app at all, despite the fact that chrome is set as my default browser. I asked Siri, open a new chrome tab - no app, she says. I asked Siri, open a new Google Chrome tab - ditto. HALP! Am not ready to move to Safari just yet.

Okay, what does work is Voice Control. If you have Voice Control enabled in System Settings > Accessibility > Voice Control, and Chrome is open, Saying "New Tab" will do just that. You might want to set "Overlay" to none. Otherwise you will have names or numbers all over the screen.

Not all third party app are going to play nice with the macOS, SIRI included...

Commnand T is the keyboard short cut for opening new Tab in most browsers
