Hi, I'm upgrading to a new Macbook M3 Pro and the photo app seems to hang on the 'curating, gathering favorite' step AFTER succesfully importing the phots - any suggestions?

I'm migrating from a 2018 Macbook Air running Mojave. I used my time machine back up & can see the latest photos but the progress bar on the 'detecting dupes, curating...., gathering...' is only about 1/8 of the way and is not progressing after many hours. Thanks

How many photos and videos do you have in your library? Depending on the answer, the speed of your machine, and whether your machine is allowed to sleep, the library could stay in that state for days, but it won't necessarily affect your ability to use the library.
