Shared calendar and subscribed calendars

My wife and I share an appleid and are thinking of setting up individual ones however, I would like to understand how Calendar would then work. I understand that I can share a calendar but if I did that I can’t share a subscribed (eg sports fixtures) calendar. If my wife subscribed separately would this show along with the shared family calendar or would they appear separately?

Are there any other alternatives?

"Shared" means shared by you or to you. If you share one of your calendars you can decide if each other person with whom you share it, individually, can view only or view & write (meaning they will have as much control as you have on the content, but you still have participation control and can kick them out at any time).

I'll let Apple explain the rest. In the Help menu type Share and select Share iCloud calendars on Mac in the list of topics. All is there.

Thankyou for that and I agree, not really an issue but can I ask another question, when looking at Calendar on iPhone, Mac or other device it gives option to view different calendars that I have set up or subscribed to and they all appear in my calendar. If someone shares a calendar with me, does that also appear in the list of calendars on my devices and if I select it, will all the entries in the shared calendar then show in my calendar?
