How do I merge two users on MacBook Pro Sonoma

Just after buying a new MacBook I had several major problems the worst being Mail creating blank pages (still unsolved). I went to Apple store and ended up with a second user with no Mail problem.

I hoped Sonoma might solve this issue but no, I just have two users, one with a working Mail and the other without usable Mail.

So I end up with 2 users and most of the documents x2.

How do I clean that mess, which occupies a lot of space too ?

from the account that works best (provided it has Admin rights) copy the files for one account to the other.

The easiest way is to use Finder with TWO windows open, side-by-side.

First open a Finder window and navigate to one of the User folders.

Then choose new Finder Window from the Finder's File menu and move the new window to the side of the first window.

navigate in that second window to the second Users folder.

Drag and drop files until the WORKING User's files are exactly as you want them.

if you have not gone back for 'one more thing' in a week, delete the old user and all its file:

System preferences > users & groups

select the old User and delete [-]

in the dialogs that follow, DO NOT retain the old files. If you are not sure, come back next week instead.
