I had the same problem for the last three days; after checking my subscription, ISP, router, Internet speed, etc. I finally cracked the code on my ROKU device. ROKU devices are like any other computer - every once in a while, you have to re-boot them to clear out things that have somehow embedded in RAM. So - I logged OUT of Apple TV, went to Home on the ROKU, and unplugged the power from the device for about 30 seconds. I then plugged the power back in to the ROKU, signed back in to the Apple TV App, and voila, I was able to play the series. Somehow it seems to have been something embedded in the ROKU that prevented Apple TV from identifying my subscription credentials on certain series. So - try that. If you're using a built in streaming device in your Smart TV, then log out of Apple TV, turn off the TV, and unplug it for a little while. Then go back in after you've plugged it back in and log back in to see what that does.

This just happened to me, too, and I finally figured out that it was because I was not subscribed. I thought my subscription was still active since it let me watch the first episode, but that must be free to everyone. I subscribed and now I have access to all episodes. Simple fix, but geez, Apple has the worst usability of all the streaming networks.

I can’t watch Lessons in Chemistry anymore. This is very annoying since I pay for Apple TV every month, plus your rate just went up. I keep getting a message saying, “Unable to Play. There’s a problem playing this video. Try again or troubleshoot the issue.” When I hit “Start Troubleshooting” it tells me to try again later. This has been going on for several days now. I want a refund for not being able to watch this show or for Apple to make me able to watch it. This is unacceptable. Seems others are also having this problem. Why don’t you fix it, Apple? Never happens with Netflix or Amazon.
