OK, then try this:

  • Go to Safari > Settings > Advanced > Default Encoding, and choose Western (ISO Latin 1) if it is not already selected.
  • When you are on the web page, does the text change when you select the View menu and change one of the Text Encoding options. Usually it is on default.
  • Do you have any Extensions installed at Safari > Settings > Extensions?
  • Try to do a Safe Boot and see if the behavior changes. Use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support

  1. I had UTF-8 selected, but changed it to ISO-Latin 1
  2. I just realized that this only happens when the first result gives a result with several sublinks,Only happens, when I hover the cursor over the blue link, In the case shown below it does not happen.

3.I had the adblock and notion extensions, but I removed them, thinking it would solve the problem but it didn't solve anything.

4.I'll try this now, let you know when I do...Edit: I have just tested, and in recovery mode this problem does not occur.

If after updating to Mac OS 14.1.1 does not solve the problem, then you have a program running on startup that is causing the problem. Post screen shots of these file locations.

~/Library/LaunchAgents

/Library/LaunchDaemons

/Library/LaunchAgents

To get there go to Finder > Go > Go to Folder, then copy and paste each of these locations there and screenshot the files at these locations. The first one does have the "~" symbol as the first character.
