i have an imac os 10.13 el capitan, can I upgrade to a later version?

What Mac do you have? You will find this information in About This Mac in the Apple () menu.

The hardware model (iMac), model year, and model sub-year will determine how far you can upgrade.

For instance, an iMac (24-inch, Early 2008) cannot run anything later than El Capitan (10.11.6). An iMac (27-inch, Late 2009) cannot run anything later than High Sierra (10.13.6).

Back up your data, check the application compatibility table, click here, and if your iMac is a 2012 or newer model, then on the download link for a higher OS.

Catalina and above won't run 32-bit software; if you choose one of them, use Go64 as well.
