Automatic Date & Time settings do not work

MacBook Pro 13" 2020.

Automatic time setting is not working properly - it sets itself to June 2020.

Source is time.apple.com – I've tried others, but not matter how I set the field, it immediately reverts back to time.apple.com

I've reset PRAM, booted in safe mode, reset the time using Terminal, followed every "fix" I can find on Mac forums etc. and nothing works.

Can anyone help ???

(PLEASE, no links to "how to set the time on your Mac" articles, this is a technical bug, not user error)

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 14.1

There were other threads with the same problem, and it appears that deleting a certain stuck file was the solution.

In Terminal, type

sudo rm /var/db/timed/com.apple.timed.plist

then type your password when asked, and press enter.
