Signing in to Apple TV
I can watch Apple tv on my iPhone but it won't let me see it on my mac.

If you are using macOS 10.14 Mojave as indicated in your post, you need to use Safari to watch Apple TV on a Mac. See the following from Watch on a Mac - Apple Support
Mac with macOS Mojave or earlier
Do either of the following:
- Update your Mac to macOS Catalina or later, then open the Apple TV app on your Mac.
- In Safari on your Mac, go to tv.apple.com to subscribe to and watch Apple TV+.
