Before, I used to restart my 2017 Macbook pro in windows(Bootcamp) and it will just start back up into windows. but now it always opens macOS and I have to manually restart and hold the option key to return back to windows which is frustrating! any ideas how to fix this?

if you hold down the option key when the mac starts you can choose if you wish to start windows or macos in the bootloader

Now this solves one problem and creates another. So basically now regardless of which operating system I restart I will always load up into windows. I want it to be when I restart on windows I load back into it and when I restart on mac I load back into it.
Is that possible? because that's how it was before.
this means that I always have to hold down the option key when I want to boot to the same operating system I'm currently using. Is there any way to make me boot to the same operating system I restarted from? so if I restarted from Windows I boot back into Windows and if I restarted from macOS I boot back to macOS without holding the option key and choosing it every time.
Select the Windows system from the Startup Disk pane of System Settings or the Startup Disk control panel.

Can you clarify what I should do and in which operating system should I do that please?
Both of those will provide a list of available boot volumes; in macOS, the option is under General. It doesn't matter which OS you do it from.

When i restart my mac in windows(bootcamp) it opens up MacOS.
