I'd like to connect my MacBook Air M1 to an ethernet connection. Which adaptor would I need? Thanks.

Are both possibilities. Note how these hubs have a PD 100W USB-C port, which lets you pass the USB-C power of the computer and connect to the USB-C of the computer. Any that have a pass through of 100W will suffice.
