find water lock

After November 18,2024 iOS update I can’t find the water lock feature. I swim Dailey and use this feature. HELP!

Just swim. The water lock doesn't change the water resistance. At all. The water lock will engage itself if needed, and you can press and hold the knob to clear the lock; to restore function to the display and to eject water from the speaker.

To open the control panel on watchOS 10 including to show the water lock control, press the side button. You can manually engage the water lock there, but Watch will engage the water lock automatically when needed. And again, the water lock does not change the water resistance.

What does the water lock do? The touch screen touch sensitivity doesn’t work at all well when wet, and the speaker cavity will fill with water when submerged. But the water lock doesn’t seal or unseal anything.

There’s a year until the 18th of November 2024, so there is some time to prepare. 😉

As for the water lock, press and hold the digital crown (the knurled knob) until the lock is cleared.

If that doesn’t work, try a restart first, then try a forced restart: Restart Apple Watch - Apple Support
