How to beep your phone from your watch?

you used to be able to scroll upwards and hit the phone icon to beep/light up your phone. I’ve heard that disappeared with the update…is that true?

Apple watch silencing iphone notifications. When I am wearing my watch, all notifications on my phone are silenced, and instead they go to my wrist. Is there any way to get it back to how it used to be? I rely on the notification sounds from my phone really heavily.
