System data use more than half storage on macbook pro

I have cleaned up alot of apps (that can be deleted, some apps apple won't let me for some odd reason) and a lot of documents but I'm still lacking in storage space because the system data is taking up THREE times as much. i dont understand why, is there a way to reduce the system data?
