In addition to losing 'slide to type' there are new "improve" and "complete" buttons above the keyboard.
The 'Improve' button changes entered text phrases to more formal sentences. The 'Complete' button does some AI magic.
How can I revert to previous keyboard function with slide to type? (Already turned off slide to type, restarted phone and turned slide to type back on)

Well, I figured it out with some sleuthing in my apps. The update activated the keyboard settings in the Genie-AI Chatbot app. Once I turned off the enable keyboard option, the "Improve" and "complete" buttons are no longer active in my keyboard and I can use slide to type again.
