Keyboard and Sound icons on the Finder Menu Bar

Just got the new iMac 24" with Sonoma 14.1.1. The Systems Settings NO LONGER give the option to view the keyboard and sound displays in the Finder Menu Bar. Why was this deleted from Sonoma when it's available in earlier OS versions?

neither of those were removed because of Sonoma.

but sometimes after an upgrade / update, system settings inadvertently change by themselves.

to put the sound icon back on your menubar, go into System Settings > Control Center, and in the "sound" section, set it to "Always Show in Menu Bar".

and to add the keyboard icon back, go into System Settings > Keyboard, in the "text input" section, click the "Edit" button next to input sources.

and turn on "Show Input menu in menu bar". (mine is turned off)
