Resetting an Apple Watch can be done in a few different ways, depending on the level of reset you need.
Here are the steps for two common types of resets:
Soft Reset (Restart)
A soft reset is similar to restarting the device and is often helpful for resolving minor issues without losing any data.
Hard Reset (Erase All Content and Settings)
A hard reset erases all content and settings from your Apple Watch. It's usually done when you want to unpair the watch from your iPhone or if you're experiencing significant issues.
Before proceeding with a hard reset, make sure to unpair your Apple Watch from your iPhone to create a backup.
- On your iPhone:
1. Open the Apple Watch app.
2. Tap on your watch at the top of the screen.
3. Tap the info button (small "i") next to the watch that you want to unpair.
4. Tap "Unpair Apple Watch."
- On your Apple Watch:
1. Go to the Settings app.
2. Tap "General."
3. Scroll down and tap "Reset."
4. Choose "Erase All Content and Settings."
