I opened Chess for the first time on macOS 14.1.1 and got a dialog box stating it wanted to download some voice packs. I clicked "Cancel" or "Don't" (can't remember how it was exactly worded) but it was popping up every time I opened Chess. Then I clicked "Don't ask again" along with "Cancel" or "Don't" and now it doesn't pop up. I wanted to know how do I get that message/dialog box back in Chess?

Sign out of Game Center and compare your results...

Are you signed into Game Center...?
Try signing out and relaunch the Chess.app
I am not seeing this issue signed out.
Did you try making changes to Chess>Settings.. for example uncheck Speak...

When I started Chess while signed out of Game Center, it asked me if I wanted to sign into a new account or my existing account. I obviously selected my existing account which it then automatically reactivated Game Center. Doesn't seem, at least to me, that you can play Chess without Game Center.
