Family sharing users get promo emails about my purchases

I recently bought a new iPhone and am getting the promotional emails about Apple Music/Fitness, but it looks like my family members that are in my Family Sharing account are also getting these emails. Not a huge deal, but still annoying. They haven't bought or added and new devices, but they're getting promo emails from my purchase. Does anyone know where this might be disabled?

I'm the Organizer of our Family Sharing account and do NOT have Purchase Sharing turned on.

iPhone 15 Pro Max, iOS 17

Unless they have your email address added to their devices, they should not be getting your promos.

What exactly do you mean when you say the "are in your family sharing account"?

Family Sharing uses separate accounts. If they are logged in to your Apple ID on their devices, then yes they would see your emails and promos, because it is the same account. They should all be using their own Apple ID on their own devices.

Sounds like something is not exactly right. They should not be getting emails meant for you unless somehow your Apple ID is added to their devices. There is no way this is happening otherwise.

I would suggest you check on there devices what account is signed in in Settings ➜ Apple ID ➜ Media & Purchases, as well as verifying your email account is not added in Settings ➜ Mail ➜ Accounts.

You could always ask Apple:

Refer to this document for ways to contact Apple ➞ Choose your country or region - Official Apple Support

Select your country (also look for "other" regions), then a product. If you don't see one that handles your issue then keep experimenting with selections until you reach one that gets you a chat session or a telephone call and get the representative to redirect you.

or:

Contact Apple for support and service by telephone ➞ Contact Apple for support and service - Apple Support

Is there actually anything linking these emails to your account? It may be Apple is just sending them promotional emails directly to them alone as people with Apple IDs (and therefore email addresses known to Apple) using a service. We don't work for Apple so we don't really know how they do things. I wonder if they are just getting these things incidentally as users of Apple Music even if only because you provide it to them? They can try unsubscribing from them.

I've verified just in case, but it's not - Everyone (two kids and a wife) only has their own Apple IDs on their devices. The only "link" to me or my ID is that they're all members of Family Sharing.

I agree that this makes no sense at all - I've poked around any Family Sharing settings on both my iPhone as well as the site here, and I can't find anything that explains it.

Thanks for the reply, Phil.

They do not have my email address in their devices. They're getting them to their Apple ID email addresses.

Timing and the fact that the emails are saying "Don't forget to activate your three months of free Apple TV / Fitness with your new device," so it's definitely triggered by my new purchase.

(Also, I said Apple Music earlier, but the promos are actually for Apple TV and Apple Fitness.)

I've told them to ignore them, but I just thought it was kind of curious and maybe a touch bit creepy. I'll dig around some more - I appreciate the tips!
