Apple Watch and Tattoos have a notoriously bad association. Opaque ink blocks the light sensor from seeing blood flow through your blood vessels.

Most users with tattoos on their wrist where the Apple Watch sits, have had a bad experience.

You should contact an Apple Store and ask if you can try an Apple Watch on your wrist to see if it functions or not before you spend any money.

Try before you buy.

If you mostly have un-inked skin, it may work.

But you should really try before you buy.

Or take advantage of Apple’s return policy, which is generally 2 weeks, but over Christmas is extended till January 8th, 2024. Assuming you buy directly from Apple.
