I'm not ready to upgrade to Sonoma (i don't move on an x .1 upgrade) but see that 13.6.2 is available for my M1 2020 MacbookPro. However, it's not showing up in updates in my system. What am I missing here?

Thanks for trying to help. I opened a support ticket and called Apple. They confirmed that there is no Ventura 13.6.2 available for my M2 2022 13". However, I am still getting annoying disruptions that lock my computer every 5 minutes from my IT group which is trying to enforce the policy that Apple issued without stating exceptions. It is sloppy on the Apple side from my perspective, and they did not help me resolve the issue. They did validate my issue.
Ventura 13.6.2 is for MacBook Pros (2021 and later).
FWIW, I said the same thing nine days ago. 😎

The 13.6.2 security update was only for 2021 MacBook Pro and 2023 iMacs (sold prior to the release of Sonoma).
I realize that you did, but more commenting ensued. The apple site says it is for everyone. I hope the fellow with the M2 Macbook figures it out for his needs.
"Ventura 13.6.2 is for MacBook Pros (2021 and later)" is not accurate. 13.6.2 only applies to certain models. I have a 13" M2 MBP and 13.6.2 is available for my model.
So you DID find it? Earlier you could not. Yay!

What's listed when you run this command in the Terminal?
softwareupdate --list-full-installers
I don't follow you. I update my mac frequently with new releases. I can also see MacOS Sonoma 14.1.2 available in Systems Setting / Software Update Available.
I'll let someone else explain further.
