Ok. For the Wi-Fi only models, the Apple TV app should load its content in supported countries and regions.

Some countries and regions only support the Apple TV app for Library content (synced videos).

Could that be it?

Where are you located? Is your Apple ID account set to that same country or region?

You’ll also need to separately allow the TV app to use cellular data.

The Apple TV app on iPad and iPhone requires internet access, to show anything other than the local library.

  • Through Wi-Fi, the TV app should have regular internet access.
  • On cellular, the TV app would need extra permission to use cellular data. Settings﹥Cellular﹥[scroll down to apps list] TV app﹥
