Can I download Itunes application to my external hard drive?
My laptop has limited space so I am wanting to download the application and my music to my external drive.

No and Yes. The Application and all its support files must live on your internal hard drive (they take up fairly little space). Your music library, however, can be stored on an external drive and accessed directly from there.

Once the library is correctly moved to the external drive, you can start iTunes while holding down the shift key, and select the iTunesLibrary.itl file on the external drive. All downloads, files and edits will then be saved to the external drive.
If your library is not consolidated, you will need to consolidate it first to move it out to the external drive.
