Pop-up "Passwords are Locked" on macOS Sonoma

I don't have Touch ID. I'm using a Mac Studio with a Logitech keyboard. The pop up I see is identical to the OP's, except that it does not reference Touch ID. Also, it happens when the computer is unlocked and I'm in the middle of doing something on the computer that does not require a password (such as writing a Word document).

In other words, that pop up opens randomly while using the computer and does not seem to be tied to the active application or activity.

Any other ideas?

In the meantime, I'll screenshot my pop up the next time it happens and post it here.

I installed the 14.1.2 update several days ago and I haven't had the pop-up appear since then. It's possible that the update didn't actually fix the issue and the simple process of rebooting was all I needed. However, if you haven't updated yet, give that a try.

Not trying to hijack someone else's question. Since my symptoms are identical and my pop up message is nearly identical, it's entirely possible that the root issue actually has nothing to do with Touch ID.

But you do have point, and I do appreciate your contribution to the community and attempts to help.

As promised, here's the screenshot of the pop-up that I see. This happened when I was browsing a website in Safari and I was not doing anything that would have triggered the need to enter my password.

When I minimized the Safari window, the pop-up disappeared. My computer is otherwise functioning normally. So far, this is just an annoyance. However, this wasn't happening prior to upgrading to Sonoma.
