MacBook Pro excessive overnight battery drain and time resetting

I recently had my MacBook Pro reformatted. Since then, I've sometimes (often) experienced overnight battery drain that has caused confusion and delay in the morning when I try to access the computer. I have attached a screenshot of the battery settings and the graph for the last 24 hours of battery level, as well as a screenshot of the date and time settings. I closed the lid (I didn't "shut down") at about 11pm as can be seen from the battery level levelling off. But then two or three hours later when I'm asleep in bed the level suddenly starts to decrease and continues until I access it in the morning, running right down to 1%.

But, is the graph accurate? The computer time also appears to have paused for about 4hours (I'm posting this with the wrong time on my computer). (In another instance of this happening, the date also turned back 1 and a half years, to May 2022.)

Why the sudden battery usage overnight? How do I prevent the MacBook from processing when the lid is closed?

How do I get the MacBook to sync the date and time (it doesn't seem to work, at least not quick enough)? (Also, I cannot post to these Apple Support Forums unless I set the time manually. I keep getting logged out!)
