Pages – autosave interruption, interference, want it gone. The document “….” could not be autosaved.
The document “….pages” could not be autosaved. The file has been changed by another application.
ARRRRGGGGHHH!!!!!!!!!!
This frustration has been happening for years. Years. Pages, Numbers and Keynote.
First.
Yes, I have "ask to keep changes when closing documents" checked.
It has been so since Mavericks or whenever.
The autosave is driving me bats and is interfering in three ways.
1: Open an old file, take a look and close it. EDIT NOTHING. Now the file date modified has changed. Just great! I was checking to see if the Pages file was more recent than the Publisher file with similar text and hey presto, now I can't tell.
2: If the file is not located on the mac editing it then I am constantly bombarded with the above message. I thought OK, it’s the Synology drive blah blah. So I set about securing a mac mini, hanging some drives off it and using it as the server. So it’s all mac. The Synology backs up the mac server but we do not work off the Synology.
Still get the same freaking error!!!!!
3: Opened and edited the pages document, go to export it to Word and The document “….pages” could not be autosaved. The file has been changed by another application. pops up. Hit "Save Anyway" and the whole export process is abandoned. So you can‘t export.
But save the file to your hard drive and away you go. Nice duplicates you have there, I wonder which one is the most recent? ARRRRRGGGHHH!!!
This is infuriating!!
