Shortcut to switch input sources does not work after installing OS Sonoma 14.1.1

I use US input and Japanese input set up on my MacBook Air (M1, 2000).

I have set up shortcut to switch back and forth (command + space).

After installing Sonoma, I am encountering so many issues and one is that this shortcut stopped working.

It seems that the default is to press “world” key (function key) for switching, but even though I activated this setting (in System Setting >Keyboard>Press “world” key to and selecting “Switch Sources” in dropdown menu), it does not what supposed to do. Can anyone help on this?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 14.1

I was going to say I have tried after seeing your post, and the short cut does not work with pressing command twice or world key once.

However, after deactivating the default option (selecting “do nothing” with world key) and restarting, the short cut worked! Thank you very much! One of the problems now solved!

Yes, Control-Option-Space and Control-Shift-Space work for me.

This setting is independent of the setting for the globe key. I could have that too, but I prefer to reserve it for expanding the Control-Strip in the Touch Bar (again, since I only rarely need to switch languages, which is a situation very different from yours).

To see the things I showed in my previous post you need to click the "Keyboard Shortcuts" button that is seen in your image.

The default shorcut to change input source is not Command-space but Control-space...

Command-space is the default for Spotlight.

Wait, I just opened System Settings->Keyboard->Keyboard Shortcuts, and now I see that I have it as in the image below: Control-option-space and Control-shift-space. I can't say if I had made this change a while ago (I rarely need to switch input sources - I write in English and in Portuguese, but prefer the US layout). Maybe it did change recently...
