Apple Music vs iPod Mini gen3

I am trying to load music onto an iPof Mini Gen3 using my Apple Music account on a MacBook Air. The system connects to the iPod but will not allow me to drag any music from my library.

If you're referring to the Apple Music streaming subscription service, I suspect that it, and any associated "offline listening" copies, will only work on an iPod that happens to be an iPod touch. (That is, an iPod that runs the same operating system as the iPhone.)

If you are trying to load purchased music (from the iTunes Store, your own CDs, etc.) onto an iPod, I would think you should be able to do that, using

  • Finder synchronization (on a Mac running macOS Catalina or later)
  • iTunes synchronization (on a Mac running macOS Mojave or earlier, or on a Windows PC)
