iPhone 11 not charging after IOS 17 update (currently on 17.1.1)

have tried three different cables and four ports, and the phone still won't charge up. I updated it to iOS 17 today, and before the update it was charging perfectly fine. now I'm left with a dead phone while I need it for work. it's clearly a problem in the software, and I've seen multiple reports of it here in the community, so while hasn't apple done anything about this? we need a fix for this issue urgently. please, this is ridiculous

It’s the clean energy charging being checked. It turns on after every update, so, even if you’ve turned it off before, if your phone is updated, it’ll be checked again.

I would prefer if it worked, but it seems to have broken with the iOS 17 version. So until they fix it, turn this off and your phone should charge.

I have an iPhone SE that did not charge overnight on the December 11th 2023. Thought it was a bad cord. Wouldn’t charge on 5 different cords and 4 different ports. It is shutting itself on and off over and over at 1% charge. I can get in there long enough to see that it is saying my battery is not an Apple battery. If this new update has caused my phone not to work because I don’t have an Apple brand battery in my phone, I will not buy Apple again. They do way too much of this. I have stood by Apple products when my husband, daughter, son and his wife all moved to aAndroid. If this is not just a glitch that can be fixed and is found to be intentional, I won’t buy another apple phone. I’m really hoping it is a glitch and they will issue ann update for this matter soon.

I have the same problem. After updating to IOS 17.1.2 my iphone 11 doesn't charge, tried force restart, closing all the apps that works in background and turned off optimizate battery and nothing. I need to shut down my phone to get charged and then use it. Sometimes it work just fine but mostly I struggle with this. My battery health is 81% and I read somewhere that if drops below 80% you should change battery and would be fine.

Any help?

Also charger works fine on other iphones and port is good, no dust or something.

it is very true , this is very frustrating.

well the problem with my phone , when i went to apple service center , was sth like rear system , and they said they need to disassemble the phone , in order to do a detail check . I mean like i just had this phone for 5 months, how could the rear system have a problem, especially after an updates.

luckily i was able to charge normally now , after 17.1.2

you guys should check with the apple call center , cause they can remotely diagnosed your phone

i hope you guys solve your problems

☺️

iOS updates generally aim to enhance user experience, boost security, and fix bugs rather than disrupt core features. Charging issues after updates might stem from underlying, unmentioned factors. Updates won't typically alter personal data but may refine settings or features. Backup before major updates for safety. Review Apple's update details and backup advice for a smooth process.

Remove any debris from the charging port on the bottom of your device. Restart your iPhone or iPod touch. Try a different USB cable or charger. Make sure you have the latest version of iOS.

Same for me with iphone 14 pro, only possibility to charge is with magsafe wireless charging, lightning cable not working in car, any cable at home, nothing and all Apple original cables, and connector cleaned. I was able to charge by cable on friday, before 17.1.2 was installed
