How to clear Apple ID balance?

If you want to clear your Apple Account balance, it is depending on the amount:

If you have an Apple Account balance that you can’t use

You can't redeem or return Apple Gift Cards, App Store & iTunes Gift Cards or unused Apple ID balance for cash, except as required by law. If your jurisdiction allows the refund of redeemed gift balances, you can contact Apple Support to request a refund. 

When you contact Apple, include the following information:

•               Your Apple ID.

•               The refund amount.

•               Your current delivery address.

If you want to clear your Apple Account balance, it is NOT depending on the amount. You have two options unless you meet the very special criteria for the second method mentioned in a previous post (which I have never seen anybody say they have successfully use in this situation):

If you are trying to zero your balance and still have a valid credit or debit card, you may purchase an item from the App Store for more than your balance and the remainder will be billed to your credit card. You may also click on Official Apple Support (the same as clicking on "Support" at the bottom left of this page) and they can zero it for you. It might save you some time, and using the general support link will likely just eventually take you here anyway after a bit of hunting.
