I am running watchOS 10.1.1 on my Apple Watch Series 9 and iOS 17.1.1 on my iPhone 15 pro but whenever I open the remote camera shutter app it shows a black screen and I can’t see the viewfinder from my iPhone. I am able to click the shutter just not able to see the viewfinder. This has been a problem since the first release of iOS 17

I had the same problem. I called the local support. They told me to shut down and restart the watch. So I did and the problem was solved. Now the remote works like it used to and is supposed to work.

I just got my iPhone 15 Pro and paired with my Series 7 Apple Watch and experienced the same thing you describe. Previously, I could see the viewfinder of my iPhone and it helped in positioning things etc. Now it's just a black screen, and yes I can take the pic still and the pic thumbnail appears... but can't see the pic I'm about to take anymore. Used to work great with my 13 Pro. I even unpaired, erased and reinstalled the Watch... still doesn't work.
The same with my iPhone 14 Pro and Apple watch ultra. It used to work ok but now the watch display stays black. I have watchOS 10.4 and iOS 17.4.1. OS problem?
